One of parts of the bridging ceremony is to give each girl a silver key.

The Girl Scout Silver Key Ceremony

The Girl Scout Silver Key Ceremony is a part of the bridge to Cadette ceremony.  According the the ceremony guide, the silver key:

“will symbolize that you are seeking to unlock the door to Girl Scout Cadettes as you being your work on the Leadership in Action award and Silver Award. Use it as a symbol that you are in pursuit of the gold at the end of your Girl Scout Journey.”

You can find a script for the Silver Key ceremony here on page 13.
