I don’t know about you, but I have more pep in my step when the weather warms up and the days are longer. As a teacher, I have seen the difference in my students when they get to spend more time outdoors. We were not meant to be cooped up all day. Our bodies need sunlight and vitamin D. When my troop was younger, we enjoyed outdoor meetings because we met after school. Getting outdoors and running around was a much needed release.
Juliette Gordon Low, the founder of the Girl Scouts, wanted girls to learn all kinds of skills. In 1912 when the GSUSA was founded, that included a lot of outdoor skills. While some of those skills are no longer relevant in today’s society, there are plenty that the girls can learn while enjoying the great outdoors.
To make your leader life easier, I have many badge meeting resources available. Everything is included in these meeting plans, from printables, multiple activity choices, and supply lists.
For multilevel troops, many of these badges come in bundles with all levels included.
