2 Free Girl Scout Sewing Programs

2 Free Girl Scout Sewing Programs

These two free Girl Scout sewing programs are available for your troop to earn.

Do you remember when you learned how to sew? I took Home Economics in seventh and eight grade. Seventh grade was for sewing, and I made a wrap around skirt. I spent a lot of time with my seam ripper. While I never sewed another garment again, I did master the basics, like sewing on a button and hemming.

When I was my younger daughter’s Girl Scout leader, as Brownies, we earned the Stitch It Together Try It. We also earned the Sew Simple badge as Juniors. While we did not do any sewing as Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors, even if we had wanted to, we would have had to gone back to the old Interest Project Program, as the GSUSA took away all of the sewing badges when the program was revamped in 2011.

2 Free Girl Scout Sewing Patch Programs

Leaders want to teach their girls to sew, it is a life skill. In the Girl Scout Adulting 101 patch program, sewing is one of the requirements.

While leaders can always earn the old sewing badges, due to their popularity, they are scarce. And if you do find some, you will pay a lot more than than you would for other retired badges.

I have found two free Girl Scout sewing programs to help you!

*Note-The programs are free, you will have to buy the patches.
