The Girl Scouts of the USA have initiated a fun summer challenge for girls to get them into them outdoors.
According to the GSUSA website:
“Spending at least 120 minutes a week in nature is associated with improved mood, focus, and confidence—whether you spend that time becoming a rockstar at rock climbing or making a splash in the puddles around your neighborhood.“
To help motivate scouts across the country, the GSUSA has created a free Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors 2024 Challenge.
How to Do the Free Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors 2024 Challenge
If your girls are interested in doing the over 50 activities available to do to earn a patch, you will need to send their parents/guardians the link for them to sign up or you can sign up and send the challenge paper to your families.
After the summer is over, have the girls hand in their sheets to you. The patch is available in the online Girl Scout Shop for $2.00 each. Decide with your co-leader ahead of time if the troop is purchasing these patches or the families, and make that clear to avoid any confusion.
